Thirsties cloth diapers are a favorite among the cloth diapering parents! They are made in the USA and with USA sourced components. I know that this is something that many parents look for in a cloth diaper company! I had heard so many good things about Thirsties from my friend Meagan that first turned me on to cloth diapering and also from many members of the local Cloth Diaper Utah group that I am a part of. So, you would imagine that I was beyond elated when I was sent a Thirsties Duo Diaper to review. Most of the Thirsties diapers that I had seen were prefolds and covers. I was so pleasantly surprised to be sent a Thirsties pocket diaper to review.

Glow Bug Cloth Diaper Review & Giveaway Ends 12/6
Glow Bug Cloth Diapers were created by 2 moms who met in a prenatal yoga class and became fast friends. Each of them has cloth diapered 2 children. When they were looking to invest in cloth diapers for their second children, they were looking for a diaper that would be quality, at an affordable price. They decided to start their own cloth diapering company that would sell amazing cloth diapers that parents could afford. Many parents are afraid to make the initial investment into cloth diapering, and it stops them from making the switch (even though they will save thousands in the long run, the initial investment can be daunting). Glow Bug offers a solution! Glow Bug cloth diapers are very affordable! You can get 12 diapers, 24 inserts, and a wet bag for only $150! For those looking to start a new stash for a very affordable price (with ADORABLE prints), you have found your diaper!

Bummas Cloth Wipes Review & Giveaway Ends 11/17
"Bummas are small soft, luxurious baby-sized cloths made especially for drying baby bottoms, as well as blocking those surprise squirts. And with a little douse of water, they can also replace commercial wipes for clean up of sensitive bums. They are small enough to conveniently carry on the go and durable enough to wash over and over again and won’t pill shrink or fade. You can virtually eliminate irritating diaper rash without the use of powders, talcs, and ointments by using Bummas cloth wipes."
I was sent a pack of Bummas "Wild Ones" cloth wipes to review, and could not be more stoked about it! I have been wanting to make the switch to cloth wipes for a while now. I have always known that it would be easier with cloth diapering to use cloth wipes as well. I could just throw them in with the diapers in the diaper laundry instead of having to separate them from the cloth diapers and throw them away. Also, as I have mentioned in other posts, baby M has VERY sensitive skin! The disposable wipes have all sorts of chemicals in them, are a waste of money, and can irritate M's skin. I really have no idea why I didn't switch sooner. By using cloth wipes I will be saving money, helping the environment, and making cloth diapering easier on myself.
Bummas were the perfect choice for my first try at cloth wipes! They come in many fun colors, they are 100% cotton - woven velour terry cloth that is milled in the USA, they are a rectangle 5"x7" size, & won't pill shrink or fade! They were very soft on M's skin, easily cleaned up any messes that we had and have been durable in the wash. I will use them again and again with my cloth diapers in place of disposable wipes. They also can be used as burp rags and to clean up really any mess that a baby creates!

Buns Up Baby Cloth Diapers - Review & Giveaway Ends 10/7
Buns Up Baby is a cloth diaper company based out of Canada. Amber, is a cloth diapering mother herself who started Buns Up Baby as a way for parents to find quality cloth diapers at an affordable price(ONLY $9-$10 EACH!!!!). Those of you that cloth diaper your babies know that some of the brand name diapers are $20+ a piece! Buns Up Baby provides a cloth diaper that is well made and affordable (and in my personal opinion, very cute). Amber hopes to help people see that cloth diapering isn't as complicated and time consuming as they may think. Buns Up Baby diapers are eco-friendly, wallet friendly, and also mom (and dad too) friendly!
After seeing Buns Up Baby featured on another blog, I contacted Amber to see if I could review her diapers as well and host a giveaway for my readers. I was ELATED when she said yes. I jumped for joy when I received my Buns Up Baby diaper in the mail. Fluffy mail is one of my favorite things in the world. I also got to pick the print that I wanted for the diaper. There were SO MANY color and print choices that it was very hard to decide. The diaper that I chose to review is the adorable "Zainey Zebra" print in the "Minkee Buns Pocket Diaper". Baby M just looks adorable in animal prints, so I couldn't wait to get it prepped and in action!

Buns Up Baby diapers are a one size pocket diaper. They have snaps to adjust the size to fit from 8-35 pounds! Their diapers are available in minkee (a soft fuzzy material lined with PUL) and silky (polyester knit lined with PUL) materials. The outer layer lined with PUL replaces the need for the plastic diaper covers of the past (that your grandma hated), however, this material still allows for airflow. The inside of the diaper is lined with a soft microfleece that wicks moisture away from your baby's bottom. Between the outside layer and the microfleece lining is an insert pad. Each diaper comes with one insert. Simply slide the insert into in an opening in the back of the diaper between the two layers (the pocket). The insert pad is comprised of three layers of microterry and is 33cm x 13.5cm. You can add more inserts if you would like more absorbency (such as for a night diaper).
The first thing I loved about this diaper when putting it on was how it looked on my baby. It has a soft minkee fabric in a very fun print. It also has a trim fit, so her clothes still fit over it, yet it was still absorbent. I have found that some of my trimmer fitting diapers look great, but leak. This diaper looks great and also holds it all in. I used this diaper on my baby for over 4 hours the first time we used it (she took a VERY long nap while wearing it). We had no leaks, no red marks, no rash, NO PROBLEMS. I have washed and re-used this diaper several times and have had no issues at all. I was a bit worried with an amazing price of only $10 each, that I would run into the same problem that I have run into with other affordable diapers, that it would eventually leak. But, so far so good! The diaper seems to withstand through washing and use without any problems.
One of the reasons that this diaper is so resistant to leaks and also doesn't leave red marks on baby's skin is that it has many snap options to ensure a perfect fit. It has adjustable rise snaps so that it will fit baby as they grow in length, hip snaps for a great fit around baby without gaps near the legs, and a double row of snaps across the top. The double row across the top is great for a skinny baby! For someone who is new to cloth, this may seem like too many snaps and may seem intimidating, but - once you get the fit right once, you will know how it fits baby and it will be a breeze. I would much rather have a diaper that fits perfectly and has a lot of snaps! The amount of snaps also allows for the diaper to continue to fit perfectly as baby grows and changes.
Another great feature that I found in this diaper was the placement of the pocket opening. On ALL of my other pocket diapers, the pocket is located more on the inside and doesn't keep the insert in place as well and has annoying fabric that bunches up in the back. With the back placement of the pocket, I almost couldn't even find where to place the insert, I thought to myself for a moment "Is this an all in one diaper? I thought it was a pocket diaper?". That is how hard to see the pocket opening is, and that is a good thing. The opening is large enough to slide the insert in with no problems, but is small enough that it is hard to see and doesn't cause the insert to move or cause bunching in the back of the diaper.
Pros:
- Affordable price
- Made by a mom who uses cloth and understands a parent's needs
- CUTE design and prints
- Trim fit
- No leaks
- Pocket placement
- Ability to add more into the pocket to reach desired absorbency
- Perfect fit because of the amount of snaps
- Many color and print choices
Cons:
- Amount of snaps may seem overwhelming to someone new to CD
- No option for hook and loop if snaps are not preferred

bumGenius 4.0
Here is a pic of baby M in the very first cloth diaper that she ever wore. I am in love with this pic. The print is the Eiffel Tower print from the bumGenius 4.0 Artist Series by Chelsea Perry. The bumGenius 4.0 is a microfiber pocket diaper. All of our bumGenius 4.0s are in snaps, but they are available in alpix as well. They come in a wide variety of colors and in the Artist Series prints. This diaper is one size, so it adjusts with your baby as they grow! So, you only need to buy 1 size and it will fit your baby from newborn to potty training!
I will admit, the very first time that she wore this diaper, we had a leak! I was bummed since I bought 12 of these diapers on a sale and was crossing my fingers that they would be great. Well, turns out that the leak was because I was new to cloth and didn't know how tight to put the diaper on. Since then, we have had no leaks with this diaper, and it is a good thing since we have 12 of them! We have been using this diaper for months now and it takes up over half of our stash, and that is a good thing since we love this diaper.
Cons:
- This diaper is a little bit bulky for my taste
- I do currently have one of these in the wash right now with a pretty bad stain on it from a fun "would have been a blowout if we didn't use cloth" that won't seem to lift
Pros:
- The colors and prints are gorgeous
- It comes in snaps which I love, it is a perfect fit for my average sized baby bum
- It is one size and will fit until potty training
- It rarely leaves red marks on her chubby little legs, there is no gap at the top between the diaper and her tummy
- It is a very affordable diaper! Less than $18 for a brand name, reputable, pocket diaper. YES PLEASE!
- This diaper comes with a free newborn insert that can be used as a doubler as well, which makes it a great night diaper. These diapers also come with a warranty!!!
They are on sale at Sweetbottoms Baby Boutique through August 2011 for the same deal that I got when I bought mine, BUY 5 GET 1 FREE!!!! As always, Shipping in the US is FREE too!
If you are reading this after the sale, or just want to buy one, buy yours on amazon.com today!
I was not provided anything for free to write this review. I purchased this diaper.

Lights 106 Fitted Cloth Diaper - Review & Giveaway

Meagan from the Large Bummies blog and the Lights 106 Etsy site is a good friend of mine. She is actually one of two people that talked to me about cloth diapering baby M and converting me. She has been a great resource for me whenever I have had a cloth diapering question. Soon after I was done with disposables, she made me a fitted cloth diaper. I loved it so much that I asked her to be a part of my 100 Follower Giveaway at Brookies Baby Bargains. Luckily for all of you, she said yes!
I had never tried a fitted cloth diaper. The whole concept confused me. I didn't understand why it was needed if I add in an extra insert and have to use a cover. What is the point then? Well, after trying it I found that it adds a lot of extra absorbency and it prevents leaks since it fits the baby a lot better than most diapers. It is the perfect addition for night diapering. Fitted diapers can also be used without a cover (under close supervision to prevent leaks) to give baby a little more air flow on days that they have a diaper rash.
Here are a few of my favorite things about this diaper:
- The ADORABLE print!
- How it fits baby
- Absorbent material
- PRICE
- They come in snaps or velcro, your choice
The best thing about this diaper is that it is only $10! For a cloth diapering mom on a budget (aren't we all? After all, saving money is one of the main benefits of cloth diapering), it adds to your stash without breaking the bank.
